Job Description: Crossing guards are provided with ample training before going out on the job. The primary job of a crossing guard is to guide students safely across the street and to be a role model in helping students to develop the skills necessary to cross streets safely at all times.

Job Duties:

  1. Direct or escort pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary.
  2. Control pedestrian traffic at CSB street crossing.

Qualifications:
Candidates meet the following qualifications:

  1. At least 13 years of age
  2. Know how to independently cross stop sign controlled streets safely
  3. Use a strong, commanding voice
  4. Good judgement
  5. Quick reaction time
  6. Professionalism
  7. Reliable and has a good attendance record
  8. Ability to follow rules
  9. Health (in terms of ability to perform duties without supervision)
