Applied Academics
The focus of the Applied Academics classroom is to promote and strengthen daily living and job skills that result in independent and full lives for students. Activities and instruction focus on the Common Core Standards and the Expanded Core Curriculum. The program is centered on job skills and employability, use of assistive technology, preparation of nutritious meals, personal finance management, organization skills, long-term physical health, self-determination and empowerment, and appropriate social skills.
