2023 New Mexico Goalball Tournament

The California School for the Blind (CSB) is proud to participate in the New Mexico Goalball Tournament on December 9th, 2023. Our CSB students are representing our school at this tournament. We will be competing with the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (NMSBVI) and the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind (CSDB). We have some great competition coming our way.

Join us on December 9th, 2023 to watch the tournament live from the NMSBVI YouTube Channel . On the day of the tournament, there will be a button on the left of the YouTube page with the word "Live". Click on the "Live" button to watch with us!

The games will be from 7:30am -11am and 12pm - 2:00pm Pacific Standard Time (PST). The CSB games will be at 8:30am, 9:30am, 10:30am and 1:00pm PST. The awards ceremony will be at 1:30pm PST. The live stream will include all the games between CSB, NMSBVI and CSDB.

2022 Highlights

• We earned 2nd place out of 5 teams in the tournament!
  
• A CSB student won tournament MVP with unanimous votes from all coaches
  
• CSB beat Colorado 10-0 in our first game of the tournament
  
• CSB students played a very high-level match in overtime against the NMSBVI boys. We came up short, losing 7-6
  
• CSB students won against the NMSBVI girls 9-2
  
• The team made friends with and competed against 30 goalball players from New Mexico and Colorado
  
• We had a homecoming dance with all 3 schools
  
• On our way to the airport on Sunday, we stopped at White Sands National Park
