Summer Academy Program

Summer Academy programs provide enrichment classes for VI students of varied ability levels.  The Summer Academy program schedule changes each year.  Students may apply for and attend more than one week of Academies.  Space in each Academy is limited.  We consider applications for Academies as they arrive to us. However, to ensure that space may be available, we recommend that you begin the process of applying as early as possible. Students who attended a Summer Academy or Short Course in the past year, MAY still have a valid application for attending this summer.  Please refer to the current summer Academy Program descriptions for details or contact the Summer Programs Team; James Rudder (510) 936-5506 or jrudder@csb-cde.ca.gov or Scott Smith, Summer Academy Coordinator (510) 936-5527 or ssmith@csb-cde.ca.gov.

Summer Application

  • Begin the process of applying by completing the brief Summer Academy Interest Form.  After receiving that form, we will contact you to hear more about the applicant and answer any questions you may have.
  • There is a rolling deadline depending on which Summer Academy you apply for.  The first deadline is May 1st.  Please see the Summer Academy Descriptions for exact deadlines.  Space is limited for each Academy.
  • There are no costs to the school district.
  • Room and board costs are provided free.
  • Parents are responsible for transportation to and from CSB for Summer Academies.
